Law Offices of David Beck, PLLC
Why Are You Here
Maybe you got here because you are searching for a mediator to help resolve a dispute.
Or perhaps you want to talk to a lawyer who has practiced healthcare law for nearly forty years about a problem you are struggling with, like responding to a False Claims Act civil investigative demand or pinning down the answer to a thorny payment or regulatory question.
Whichever it is, you have come to the right place.
Background
Before opening my own firm, I served as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, and Chief Privacy Officer of major public and private healthcare providers.
These jobs, and the private practice of healthcare law that led to these positions, gave me plenty of opportunities to participate in high stakes mediation and to wrestle with a broad array of health law issues.
Mission
My mission now is to use this experience to help parties control their own destinies through mediation, and to share my hard-won knowledge with others seeking to navigate the complex world of healthcare law.
After you’ve had a chance to look around, if you like what you see please get in touch to talk about how I can help you.
Practice Areas
Alternative Dispute Resolution
As general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer for healthcare provider companies with billions in revenue, conflict was my daily bread. Disputes with payors, contract partners, regulators, customers, and others made up a major part of my to-do list.
Practice Areas
False Claims Act Cases and Investigations
The False Claims Act is the primary tool used by the Department of Justice to fight healthcare fraud. It provides civil and criminal penalties when the DOJ proves a health care provider “knowingly” filed a “false” claim for payment under Medicare, Medicaid, or another government healthcare program.

Healthcare Compliance, Regulatory, & Reimbursement Services - Expertisience
Healthcare is complicated. As you would expect, the system the government has set up to pay for healthcare and regulate providers is too. According to one frustrated federal judge, the Medicare Act is an “impenetrable thicket” of complexity and cross-reference. And that ignores the immense volume of regulations and guidance regularly issued interpreting this mind-boggling law.
